MARKET DAY MANAGER - PT

Job Description

This position is a part-time up to 20 hours a week, with opportunity to move to full time or increase hours as needed for special events. Weekends required. 90-day probation period will apply. Job description, include but not limited to the following: Open and close market-with the help of volunteers and AmeriCorps. Serve as a liaison between the board, vendors, customers, and community organizations as directed by the FHFM Board. Troubleshooting problems or issues that may occur during market hours. Tracks open spaces as well as coordinate placement of daily drop in vendors. Monitor for maintenance issues and report to cleaning staff. Planning and coordinating special events with assistance from volunteer and the board. Vendor on boarding to understand policy and by-laws. Prepare report for Board meetings, second Monday of every month. Prepare set-up for bi-annual vendor meetings, held in April and October. Communicate with board to ensure they are aware of issues/concerns that arise. Vendor recruitment and retention. Keep vendors apprised of the market/food regulations. Support market rule enforcement.

Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Some college preferred, but not required. Experience managing many different types of personalities and conflict resolution. Creative thinking, clear communication skills and keen organizational skills a must.

Volunteers work two-hour shifts on Saturday or Sundays and spend their time doing a variety of things, From answering questions from shoppers at our information booth, checking on our market vendors, to helping with the morning set-up of barricades. We have something for you!
